wart on penis: is it normal?

there is a bump/wart thing on my boyfriend’s penis and we highly doubt it’s hpv but we don’t know what to label it as. he is going to the doctor soon to get it removed but in the mean time we both want to know what it can be considered. it looks like a clear, small, blister that feels like it has a bit of cartilage inside it. it doesn’t hurt him and it’s not big at all. and it’s been there since i’ve first seen his penis and it looked normal to me. his theory is that he beat off too hard or something and cartilage or something like that broke off and caused some sort of cyst/bump/wart.
anyone heard of this?
